Throughout his childhood stages in Ghana, Felix gained enjoyment from sketching cartoon characters, following in the footsteps of his older brother who was naturally talented in drawing. During his adolescence stage in Chicago, Felix’s drawing skills improved, and he began to develop a stronger passion for art. Drawing was no longer just an activity that he shared with his older brother; it became one of his main hobbies. His love for art grew stronger when he came across the paintings created by Ernie Barnes on his middle school’s hallway walls. After being exposed to the works of Ernie Barnes, Felix began to research other artist.

As a self-taught artist, Felix expanded his art skills by adding acrylic painting to his repertoire in 2013. Felix’s artwork is now created with various mediums (acrylics, oils, pastels, art markers, and etc.).

Driven by the love of his passion, Felix created a company based on his talent “Different Strokes” (DS). Founded in January 2014, Different Strokes as the name denotes, provides artwork that is inspired by various aspects of life, and created with multiple mediums. DS provides a wide range of artwork, which includes original pieces, prints, Greek/ organization gifts, self-portraits, other custom orders and etc.

Felix’s work can be described as manifested thoughts, as he creates pieces from his own perspective, as well as others. Felix’s work is inspired by his experiences/culture, music, history, and other backgrounds/resources of knowledge. Felix allows his audience to perceive what they choose aesthetically from his work while creating underlying stories and messages through his pieces.
